On the morning of April 13, 2024, the unveiling ceremony for the Department of Optoelectronic Engineering and the Institute of Photonic Technology was held. Professor Zhuang Songlin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the ceremony. Other attendees included Ke Ruiqing, Party Secretary of QNU; Chen Changping, President of QNU; Huang Jiangkun, Vice President of QNU; Gao Yuncheng, former Deputy Party Secretary of QNU and consultant of the Institute of Photonic Technology; and Dr. Liao Tingdi, a national distinguished expert and honorary director of the Institute of Photonic Technology.
At the ceremony, Chen Changping delivered a speech on behalf of the university. After that, Zhuang Songlin, Ke Ruiqing, Chen Changping and Liao Tingdi jointly unveiled the plaques for the Department of Optoelectronic Engineering and the Institute of Photonic Technology.
Before the ceremony, Ke Ruiqing met with Academician Zhuang Songlin and his delegation. He expressed gratitude to Zhuang for his strong support over the years to the university in disciplinary construction, scientific research, talent cultivation and other aspects. They also had exchanges on further deepening joint postgraduate training, scientific research cooperation and other matters.
