QNU signed a memorandum of cooperation with Ateneo de Naga University of the Philippines

On November 25, Chen Mengli, President of Ateneo de Naga University of the Philippines, paid a visit to our university. President Chen Changping and President Huang Jiangkunmet with the guest.

On behalf of the university, Chen Changping extended a sincere welcome to Chen Mengli. He introduced the general situation of Quanzhou City, the school-running conditions of QNU, as well as its achievements made in conducting Chinese language education for the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries. He expressed the hope that relying on QNU's profound accumulation in language and cultural promotion, cooperation between the two universities would be launched to jointly provide support for Chinese language learning and cultural exchanges in Nagain the future. Chen Mengli introduced the profile of Ateneo de Naga University, as well as the current status and needs of Chinese language learning in the Philippines. He hoped that we could co-establishthe Confucius Institute and introduce excellent resources in language and culture to provide high-quality Chinese language teaching for Ateneo de Naga University and the local area.

At the meeting, Chen Changping and Chen Mengli, on behalf of both parties, signed a cooperation memorandum and reached a preliminary agreement on jointly establishing a Confucius Institute. During the visit, Chen Mengli conducted a visit to the Cultural Relics Museum of Ancient Pottery, the Silk Road Language and Culture Research Center, and the School of Literature and Communicationin our university . He also presented the 2nd National College Students' Calligraphy and Painting Works Annual Exhibition held at our university.
