From November 21 to 23, the 15th International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology and the 7th International Conference on Environment and Ocean Engineering(2024) were successfully held in Xiamen. This conference was jointly hosted by Quanzhou Normal University, Xiamen Ocean Vocational College, and the Fujian Provincial Key Laboratory of Wind-Related Disaster and Wind Engineering, and co-organized by the International Society for Environmental Information Sciences and the United Nations Development Program.
Huang Guohe, Honorary Chair of the conference, Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and professor at Beijing Normal University; Professor Chen Changping, Conference Chair and President of QNU; and Professor Liu Guangming, President of Xiamen Ocean Vocational College, delivered opening speeches respectively.
The conference,in a hybrid format of online and offline, covered multiple research areas including ecological environment, marine environment, and smart environment. Over 60 renowned experts and scholars from China, Canada, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and other countries participated, delivering three plenary speeches, three invited lectures, and more than 40 oral and poster presentations.
The International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (ICEST) and the International Conference on Environment and Ocean Engineering (ICOEO) were respectively founded in 2010 and 2018. They have been annually, hosted around the world, including Singapore, Madrid (Spain), Hong Kong (China), Taipei (China), and Prague (Czech Republic). After more than a decade, they have developed into authoritative and internationally influential academic conferences in the fields of environmental science and ocean engineering, enjoying a high reputation in the global research community.
