Symposium on the Education and Development of Children with Autism in the Digital-Intelligence Era Held at QNU

On November 14, the symposium on the Education and Development of Children with Autism in the Digital-Intelligence Era was held at our university. Distinguished attendees included Huang Wei, Director of Officeof the Special Education and Teaching Management, Department of Basic Education, Ministry of Education; Huang Jianshun, Full-time Deputy Chief Inspector of Education of Fujian Provincial Department of Education; Yu Zhidan, Director of office of the Basic Education, Fujian Provincial Department of Education; and Chen Xin, Deputy Director of office of the Basic Education, Fujian Provincial Department of Education; Also present were Li Wensheng, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Quanzhou Municipal People’s Congress; Cai Jisheng, Deputy Director of the Quanzhou Education Bureau; Chen Changping, President of QNU; Xiahou Jianbing, Vice Presidentof QNU; and Chen Qingyuan, Vice Chairman of the QNU Board.Over 200 people, including special education experts and scholars from across the country, renowned special education teachers from Fujian Province, teacher representatives from special education schools in Fujian, and faculty and student representatives from our university, participated in the event.

Huang Wei, Huang Jianshun, and Chen Changping delivered speeches respectively. The symposium also featured the release ceremony for the Fujian Provincial Special Education Quality Report (2018-2023) and an award ceremony for the winners of outstanding papers from the symposium.

Hosted by our university and co-organized by the Fujian Provincial Special Education Resource Center and the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Automation of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), the three-day symposium focused on topics related to the education and development of autistic children in the digital-intelligence era. It aimed to further promote interdisciplinary integration, advance the deep integration of artificial intelligence with the education of autistic children, and contribute to the high-quality development of special education.
