The 13 participants of the 2024 “Chinese + Maritime” training program successfully completed their study at our university. Over the four-week course, they mastered basic conversational Chinese, experienced traditional Chinese culture, and studied maritime business. The program also included on-site learning at the Jinjiang Experience Museum and World Heritage sites, as well as professional exchange visits to provincial maritime departments. Our university has been actively implementing the important consensus reached between President Xi Jinping and the leaders of Pacific Island countries. Since 2023, QNU had hosted two consecutive “Chinese + Practical Skills” training programs, attracting maritime officials from eight Pacific Island countries--Tonga, the Cook Islands, the Solomon Islands, Samoa, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, and Kiribati--earning a positive social response.
