On June 1, 74 Filipino-Chinese campers of the 2024 Chinese-learning Summer Camp, led by 5leading teachers, arrived at our university and started their 42-day journey to learn Chinese language and culture. On June 2, the opening ceremony was held at Jimei University. After that, the campers took a placement test and began their studies on June 3.

This summer camp was co-organized by the Fujian Overseas Friendship Association and the Fujian Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, supported by the Chen Yankui Foundation and the Fujian Fumin Foundation, and hosted by Philippine Chinese Education Research Center and Quanzhou Normal University. Our university continued to focus on the "Four Ones" initiative, namely creating “one” personalized learning kit, making “one” group of Chinese friends, gaining “one” unforgettable experience, and fostering “one” lasting connection with their cultural roots. Through immersive and interactive experiences, the campers will not only acquire knowledge and learned about Chinese culture but alsogain friendships.
