On June 10, the 2024 Belt and Road Initiative International Youth Dragon Boat Race was held at Huangtang River in Hui'an County. The event invited youth groups, overseas Chinese, and international friends from countries (regions) along the Belt and Road to Quanzhou to "pull together in the same boat". A total of 48 teams from 12 countries and regions, comprising nearly 800 athletes, signed up for the competition.
QNU’s Tianyuan Dragon Boat Team was made up of 8 international teachers and students (from the United States, Canada, Malaysia, Yemen, etc.) and 8 students from the College of Transportation and Navigation. Standing out among the 48 competing teams, the team advanced to the finals. They secured the 9th place in the finals of the 350-meter straight-line race in the competitive category and were awarded the "Best Dragon Boat Competition Award" of thisevent. The team members demonstrated the spirit of unity, collaboration and striving for excellence, injecting new vitality into the Belt and Road Initiative.
