2024 Chinese Language Summer Camp for Filipino-Chinese Students Concluded at QNU

The closing ceremony and final presentation for the “Chinese Roots, Quanzhou Ties” 2024 Chinese Language Summer Camp for Filipino-Chinese Students was held on the evening of July 9 in the First Academic Lecture Hall QNU. The event was attended by Vice President Huang Jiangkun, Huang Duanming, Chairman of the Philippine Chinese Education Center, and Yang Meimei, Vice Chairman of the Center, along with leaders from relevant departments, all teachers and students of the 2024 camp, as well as faculty and student representatives from QNU.


During the ceremony, Vice President Huang Jiangkun and Chairman Huang Duanming jointly presented certificates of honor to team leaders,participant representatives, and outstanding students. In the performance that followed, the campers presented a series of vibrant and captivating programs showcasing their learning achievements. Performances included the energetic group dance “Together with Love,” a medley of Minnan nursery rhymes rich with local flavor, the spirited kung fu show “Martial Arts Display,” the humorous skit “Mencius’ Mother Moved Three Times,” the graceful ethnic dance “Jasmine Flower”, and a heartfelt chorus “Blue Quanzhou Bay.” In addition, campers displayed their own handmade crafts, calligraphy, and paintings, expressing their deep affection for their ancestral homeland. The showcase was also live-streamed, allowing parents and relatives back in the Philippines to share the joy and accomplishments of the campers.

The 2024 Chinese Language Summer Camp for Filipino-Chinese Students lasted from June 1 to July 12. Over the 42-day program, the participants gained a deeper understanding of the Chinese language & culture and forged strong bonds with the TCSOLstudent tutors at QNU. Since 2011, the university has hosted ten sessions of such camp, welcoming nearly a thousand participants in total.
